I'm translating a blog entry that focuses on places where you can buy US foodstuffs in France.
I'm not sure what "le peanut butter de compétition" means. what does "de compétition" refer to here? "award-winning" is the only thing that springs to mind, but that's a total guess and

I don't think it's anything specifically to do with award-winning, it just means 'competition-grade/quality' etc., but in a purely jocular sense.
I often hear it used orally, often shortened to 'de compète'.

However, I have quite often heard « de compète » used in colloquial speech over here in France, so perhaps this is a FR / CA thing. Empircially, I have observed it to mean 'serious, the real thing', etc.
