Blastings and explosives
This is the Blastings and explosives chapter of a safety manual, and it is describing the blasting procedures. It says boreholes shall never be sprung when they are adjacent to a loaded hole.
I´m wondering if springing is equivalent of detonating. Can´t seem to find any reliable source to make sure what it really means.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

"springing" > the process of enlarging a portion of a blasthole (usually the bottom) by firing one or more small explosive charges; typically used in order that a larger charge of explosive material can be loaded in a subsequent blast in the same borehole.

Discussion
Drill holes which have been sprung or chambered, and which are not water-filled, shall be allowed to cool before explosives are loaded.
