Italian term

facendo affidamento sul contenuto

Non-PRO Italian to English Bus/Financial Law (general) Investment guidelines presentation
This is from the disclaimer at the beginning of a presentation about proposal guidelines for new investments of a company group. All I can really find to use is "relying on the content", but is there a more accurate expression in UK English? This sounds a bit weak to me but I cannot find anything more specific.

"Il destinatario di questo documento si assume la piena ed esclusiva responsabilità di qualunque azione che lo stesso intraprenda facendo affidamento sul contenuto del presente documento. "

neutral mrrafe : In EN/US common law, I think the critical element is reliance rather than basis, as reliance more strongly connotes "but for" causation. Someone could take action "based on" a combination of the document plus other factors.

in reliance on the content/contents

This is how I would write it as a US lawyer; or better, "in reliance on any express or implicit representations herein." "In reliance on" is more legally idiomatic than "relying on,.

The representations clause anticipates preemptively any claim by the buyer that the contents included representations - a point the seller may want to dispute someday. However, the author hasn't chosen to write it that way, so "content" probably has to suffice as a translation.

I'm not aware of any difference or preference between content and contents in US EN.
