Italian to English Social Sciences Human Resources titles
I often see this abbreviation, usually put before names of technicians in Italian, translated in English with Eng., and some examples are also in Reverso: https://context.reverso.net/traduzione/inglese-italiano/eng

Is this translation really correct?

It sounds pretty odd to me. How would you translate it?

I agree, Tom We've had this question several times before, and the consensus has been to leave it out.

I usually avoid it. In Italian, it's common to mention a professional by appending an abbreviation in front of their name. In my own case, because I'm an architect, my name in Italy is Arch. Tom XXX or even Dott. Arch. Tom XXX. In normal English I am simply Tom but it may occasionally be necessary to make it clear that I'm an architect; in such cases I usually write Tom XXX, Architect - but only when it's unavoidable.

You're right, it does sound odd in English so I leave it out but put their job title after their name. So "Ing. X" becomes "Mr/Ms X, Engineer"

leave as is in Italian

This title is awarded after completing a five-year engineering degree, equivalence to a M.Sc. But it also implied that the individual is registered with the Collegio Nazionale degli Ingegneri as a practising engineer. Titles are difficult to translate and there are no always equivalents (for example I never translate my uni titles B.A/LLB.)

neutral Claudia Sorcini : per avere il titolo non è necessario essere registrati all'Albo degli ingegneri, bensì basta aver superato l'esame di stato abilitante a tale iscrizione. Se non si è superato tale esame allora ci si può attribuire solo il titolo di Dott. Ing.
