Proposed translations
a way out "from above"
an 'up and away' escape from the predicament
Seems to refer to a quote from the (NB spelling:) Argentinian writer, Leopoldo Marechal, and that might not be understood in other Spanish-speaking countries, notably Spain.

I am not 100% sure, but it seems that it is simply saying: "a way out of the labyrinth/conundrum/morass".

***“Una salida por arriba del laberinto”*** (a way out from above the labyrinth/morass?)

Discussion
‘70s. Intervening in them too were the aesthetic stances most committed to the reality of their time. Many were the artists who felt both summoned and questioned by contemporary events. While some saw no possible way out of their own disicipline, others, on the contrary, felt an urgent need to inscribe their images into the course of history, to think about and question the reality in which they found themselves immersed, and to historicize on the basis of their own interpretations, in which they risked ideological but also aesthetic positions."
In other words, they felt that they couldn't contribute to discussion of the political situation as they were confined by the accepted 'norms' of painting at the time. Alonso found a way to step out of these confines through his Lección de anatomía work and express his political views through it.
