Spanish term

sombrilla de brezo

Spanish to English Other Other garden accessories
I know exactly what it is, but can't for the life of me think of the term in English. It's often used for fencing round gardens to prevent neighbours seeing in, and also on sun umbrellas at swimming pools, beaches, etc. It looks like a kind of matting made of twigs. It is NOT bamboo or cane.

1 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I'll accept heather. In the end I decided on "thatch-top" because it allows the parasol to be visualised. The material they're made of is irrelevant. The fact is they're not canvas. Anyone who's ever been to the Spanish Costas will know what they are."

willow

I know that brezo is heather but I have never heard of heather matting! Could it possibly be willow? This is what is often used as you say for fencing in gardens. Really not sure though.
