Radkastenüberbau There is a construction above the wheel housing on the driver's side on which... Explanation: Hello Ian. Maybe the above would be a good "safe bet". There are only 6 references to "Radkastenüberbau" on the internet, so it seems to be a bit of a made-up word anyway. |

Radkastenüberbau Inner wing Explanation: Now, I couldn't post "outer wing", could I? Looks to me like the panel on which my car has itswinscreen washer fluid bottle mounted - complete with belt, so it doesn't fall over; so what's so great about Mercedes???? -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 53 mins (2004-10-01 07:05:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I take it these are containers for drinking water in the cab? Then it can still be on the inner wing.... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr 6 mins (2004-10-01 07:18:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In that case, it\'s a wheel housing. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr 7 mins (2004-10-01 07:19:58 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- ...or wheel arch. Better put \"rear wheel arch\", I think. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr 16 mins (2004-10-01 07:29:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Frame over the wheel arch |

Radkastenüberbau platform / rack Explanation: My understanding is that it's a not quite horizontal surface along the driver's side of the vehicle but mounted higher up than (both) the wheel arches (wheelhousings). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs 46 mins (2004-10-01 13:58:44 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- in fact, I think \'ledge\' might better than platform or rack. |
