I'm not sure whether "heart" goes for both muscle AND lining or whether if goes for "muscle" only.

La frase se refiere a ambas capas cardíacas: el músculo (miocardio) y el revestimiento (endocardio). Pienso que para mantener el registro del texto original es mejor decir "músculo o revestimiento del corazón" (en lugar de "miocardio o endocardio").
