English term

Short Operation Time (KB): 3 minutes

English Other Electronics / Elect Eng
This is from Instruction Manual of a blender. In actual instructions it is said that the blender should not be used longer than 3 minutes continuously.

At the end of the manual there is Technical Data with this line:

"Short Operation Time (KB): 3 minutes"

Apparently 'Short Operation Time' is one of those; somebody has incorrectly translated the text from some other language, trying to say sth like 'maximum time of continuous operating period'. Or, am I wrong?

Then there is this ‘KB’. I have no idea what it could mean.

Crannmer Oct 23, 2013:
KB = Kurzzeitbetrieb (S2) KB ist hier die Abkürzung von Kurzzeitbetrieb (S2), engl. short-time duty oder short-time operation. Gemeint ist die zulässige Einschaltdauer (angegeben in Minuten), wenn die Zeit _nach_ der Abschaltung für die Abkühlung der Maschine bis knapp an die Raumtemperatur ausreicht.

Is it by any chance a Krups blender? Because in that case, the KB stands for the type of blender; only those with serial no. KB-x have a short operation time. If you know what I mean.

Is it possible, that the original was Hungarian? In that case KB (usually written in lower case: kb) would mean "about/more or less: 3 minutes".

I should think you're right, and that the KB is the abbreviation for whatever the translator is trying to say in the language from which he is translating.

max. continuous operation: 3 minutes

As for your KB, it could be anything — if translated from German, it might be something starting with 'kurz...', or it could even be some kind of left-over from a manufacturer's own term, like 'Kwik-Blend', for example!

Unless you can ask the client, I suggest in this instance it is probbaly fairly unimportant and could be simply omitted.
