che si può solo sconfiggere confrontandola nonostante lo shock...
La mia lettura è semplicemente quella del confronto e porrei quindi l'enfasi su quello. Quello che l'autore vuol dire è che solo confrontandosi con la realtà - anche se ciò causa uno shock - si può sconfiggere o annullare il male.
