marionette

Tenants receive an award for living in a flat or marionette depending on the type of property.
My dictionaries suggest that marionette means puppet which does not seem to be applicable here. What exactly does it mean in this context. Thanks

maisonette
I'm tempted to think it's a typo.

: well, there are some 1 & 3 bedroom "marionettes" advertized by UK estate agents - I assume it is a 'malapropism' because it sounds similar to maisonette (and I've never met it) but surprizing that even a few estate agents would put that unintentionally

: Smart of you to find such a good reference, but I suspect 'marionette' in your ref is also a typo. In fact on another page, the same company refer to the same property as a 'maisonette.' Ref is too big to fit here. Search for 'maisonette' ' fernthorpe'
