German term
Vorwachsen gegen den Epiduralraum
German to English
Medical
Medical (general)
medical report
"Es handelt sich um einen weitgehend solitären Befall von BWK 11 mit ausgedehnter paravertebraler Weichteilkomponente, Vorwachsen gegen den Epiduralraum, entsprechen der Einengung des Spinalkanals und Kompression des Myeloms"
Am having trouble grasping the deep structure of this sentence, for "Vorwachsen gegen den Epiduralraum" I have two options "expansion against the epidural space/protrusion toward the epidural space", but then am stymied by the "entsprechen" bit. I'm not sure what is corresponding to what here.
TIA for your help.

[...] extending into the epidural space
[...]soft tissue parts, extending into the epidural space, resulting in the narrowing of the spinal canal [...].
That's how I read it. If soft tissue components extend into the epidural space which is the outermost part of the spinal canal, the spinal canal is correspondingly narrowed. "Correspondingly" would be a literal translation, but I think it is better to say "resulting in"... What do you think?

Thanks, Gisela. I did not dare correct the German ( that's your domain :):), but that's how I read it from the context
