I currently have a BA in English and Technical English and would like to obtain an MA in English. I also have an MA and BA in Spanish.

My problem is the following: I live in Suriname and am looking to obtain an MA in English through on-line, distance education. Can anyone recommend a good, reputable university with reasonably prices? It does not matter whether it is in Europe, Canada, the USA or even Australia. Although, 'double auch' if I would need to go to Australia to take one or more exams on-campus.

Is it even possible to get a language degree on-line/through the internet or through correspondence course work? Does anyone know?

English is my native language, so it would not be a problem for me to follow graduate studies.

Thank you for your time.
Lucinda

Hi Lucinda,

If you want to further yourself, I think the possibilities in this field are boundless, to mention just a few:
www.open.ac.uk/

Open Universiteit Template
Categorie: World > Nederlands > Onderwijs > Universiteiten > Nederland
www.ou.nl/ -

I have some friends who have followed these courses, there are usually some on-site training weeks involved and my guess would be that you would want to go to a place nearest to you:

AMERICAS OPEN UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI
... ABET OPEN UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI. Method: Distance, through the Web Courses:
MBA, CIO, IME Automatic Complementary Up-Date Atualizacion ...
www.netnegocios.com/curricul/un1000up.htm - 41k - In cache - Gelijkwaardige pagina's

Good luck!
Marijke

Hi Lucinda,

You may want to take a look at the MA in English Linguistics program at the University of Central England in Birmingham:
