Hello, is there a quick way to merge (or divide) segments that have not been segmented, shall we say, ideally? My current text has several cases where I would like to merge existing segments.

Transit XV Smart, SP 26.

Thank you

Rob Roy

I've an abridged Satellite, but I believe your full-blown version more versatile.

Try a context menu, two last options are "Split Segment" and "Join Segment to next". Don't forget to do so in both files simultaneously.

Hi Robroy,

1. Make sure you have the alignment tool in the toolbar.
2. Take the write protect status off the source language (cursor in TL window: View > Read only)
3. Now you can joint or split segments using the alignment tools (vertical line = split, horizontal line next to it = join)
4. Reinstate write protect status on source language when finished.
5. For more information, read Alignment manual (specifically Chapter 4):

Thanks - great solution Apr 3, 2010

Hello Jill, Hello Alexey,

Thank you for your replies, both of which work very well. Alexey's solution seem to be simpler, but I still needed your tip, Jill, to remove the write protection in the source segment.

I'm becoming more and more of a Transit fan!
