German term or phrase: stark umworben
Umwerben is to court, woo or solicit. The idea expressed in "zu der stark umworbenen Klientel der internationalen Kunststoffmaschinenindustrie gehören" is clear, but after wrestling with it I haven't been able to find an elegant way to express it in English. Help would be appreciated.

For \'umwerben\' how about something with \'curry favour\'?
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q="curry favour with"&m...

e.g. \"...are among those clients with whom the international KSMI most seek to curry favour.\"

Another past participle that collocates happily with \'clientele\' is \'prized\'

(Re other possible translations of ‘umworben’: the choice of this verb suggests that the KSMI have already identified their clientele, i.e. they are past the point of having to search them out)

belong to the most attractive clientele

Explanation:
turn the whole thing around from the point of view of those seeking out these customers, and it's fairly simple

wined and dined is another possibility, but it's hard to fit into context.
