French term

de ce que...

French to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Bank guarantee
The sentence is:
"De ce que le contrat prévoit que XX paiera un acompte de... EUR au fournisseur...."
It sounds as if this is a standard contract phrase that may have a corresponding standard phrase in UK English. Has anyone come accross it before? Any help would be appreciated.

Discussion

Rosemary Harvey (X) (asker) Mar 14, 2006:
The previous phrase is:
"nous... déclarons avoir pris connaissance;"
There is another clause before it, but I thin that it refers back to this phrase.

what comes before this phrase?

The context is not clear. The earlier sentence would make this clear. So it should read like .........that the contract provides that XX will pay........
