French term

habillage

French to English Tech/Engineering Media / Multimedia broadcasting
from a technical specs document for broadcasting, features variously in:

outils graphique d’habillage
éléments d’habillage et d’ autopromotion
stations d'habillages d'antennes
événements secondaires d’habillage

I think it's a sort of channel branding/identity design but I don't know if there's a correct industry term for it.
Proposed translations (English)
5 +4 presentation / branding
4 Station character (or identity or image)
3 in-house opening
2 radio imaging

Please check in gloss. as I KNOW this has come up before...
Nibus (asker) Apr 1, 2006:
I should add that I think it's something entirely visual (on-screen)

presentation / branding

I suggest you use both terms, associated with the source text as follows:

outils graphique d’habillage - PRESENTATION

éléments d’habillage et d’ autopromotion - BRANDING

stations d'habillages d'antennes - PRRESENTATION

événements secondaires d’habillage - BRANDING

radio imaging

I found a site www.studiospeak.net which advertised itself as habillage d'antenne - radio imaging. That, unfortunately, is all it contained apart from a short video clip with no other useful info. I thought it might help as you think it is something visual.

Station character (or identity or image)

Talks of the creation of a station character or identity being relatively straightforward, but the implementation of this image is the challenge.
