Spanish term

soto de río

Spanish to English Other Agriculture Land description
Hi all!

This is from a description of an agricultural research institute's facilities:

Could it be something like "river grove"?

MTIA for any suggestions.

are on the river bank/border the river/are on either side of the river

I went for a walk in our city's (Avila) "Soto" yesterday! A lot of cities, towns etc have an area on the outskirts where the land near the river banks has been converted into a kind of leisure area. I wonder if there is a legal limitation to land use along river banks.

You can often spot the sotos because there will be an area of trees growing alongside the river: in our area they are often ash trees. Hence the translation of soto as "river grove" - but it sounds a little poetic to me when we're talking about land use.
