German term

Dispositionsassistent

German to English Tech/Engineering Cinema, Film, TV, Drama postproduction company
Context:
This terms crops up in a job description of a postproduction company that has everything to do with videos, films, images.

Found in text:

"Disposition" in all its variations is one of my pet hates as it covers such a vast area of concepts. Any takers out there? Thanks in advance.

Jonathan MacKerron Jul 13, 2007:
no, was just wondering out loud if that's the kind of job we're talking about here - "administrative assistent"?
Natalie Wilcock (X) (asker) Jul 13, 2007:
Fair enough But do you really think I can post that as an advertisement heading on their website? ;-)
Jonathan MacKerron Jul 13, 2007:

production assistant

If it's a general all-around assistant in film/video, then it's a PA.
They schedule, fetch, organize, round up people, equipment, cast, crew, arrange food, et al.
My brother works as one, and if you google the term along with film or video, you get a million hits. literally.
