The silvicultural method that gradually removes the trees from a given stand by a series of partial cuttings over a relatively short period of time. Eventually all overstory trees are removed, resulting in an even-aged stand.

În concluzie, de modul cum se aleg şi se aplică tratamentele depind reuşita regenerării,
structurii arboretelor şi economicitatea exploatării.
În regimul codrului, în funcţie de modul în care se realizează regenerarea se diferenţiază:
• tratamentul tăierilor rase, în cadrul căruia regenerarea se realizează pe teren descoperit ;
