I think it means 'under supervision of a chartered accountant', but would like to be sure.
Any help is greately appreciated.

: hmmm -- my agree to Hasselt's answer was for the 'op de voet van' portion of the phrase, but I overlooked the 'registeraccountant' bit FWIW, De Keiser translates it as (among other things) chartered accountant (UK) or CPA (US).

The qualification CA and CPA cannot be substituted for "registeraccountant". They are qualifications in their own right, no matter what de Keyzer or any other dictionary suggests. The least they could do is to precede these 'synonyms' by cf.

Thanks Debbie for 'coming to the rescue'. I am, however, getting sick and tired of asking the moderator to change the KOG entries. Its standard and usefulness is becoming more dubious by the day.
