: This may be correct Chris, but how is an English-speaking person going to know what that means? I think something like 'lower level' might be easier to understand.

It would have to be made apparent in the wider context of the entire text. Even in Dutch, the meaning of sub-ABD will not be clear to a reader unfamiliar with the broader context.
