El técnico estará familiarizado con el manejo del telurómetro o telurómetro-resistivímetro con el que se efectuarán las mediciones.

Se procederá siempre a colocar el testigo de tensión en un punto a potencial cero....El método más utilizado es el de caída de potencial que describiremos a continuación.

Desconectar la toma de tierra del punto de puesta a tierra (regleta, borne, etc). Después conectar la toma de tierra al telurómetro y situar las sondas de tensión y de corriente en línea recta. Partiendo del punto de puesta a tierra, primero la de tensión y la más alejada la de corriente.

Indicar la distancia a la que se colocarán las sondas y el tipo de medición (típicamente está distancia debe ser cinco veces superior a la dimensión más grande del sistema de puesta a tierra bajo estudio). Sirva como ejemplo una distancia para la sonda de tensión de 25 metros del punto de puesta a tierra y la de corriente a 15 metros adicionales, es decir, a 40 metros del punto de puesta a tierra

Explanation:
Ground - For safety, the neutral line may grounded at one or more points. The transformer on each power pole is attached to a copper ground wire that extends to the bottom of the power pole inside the earth. If not properly grounded, the neutral line becomes a safety hazard for power personnel. The chassis of an electrical devise is the ground and often has a wing nut stud so inscribed.

Earth - A metal rod driven into the Dirt 3 feet plus deep below the surface of the earth is often used as an earth "ground". The supply electrical meter at the entrance to the house is where the "neutral" is attched to an "earth" ground. If the earth ground is improperly attached or has excessive electrical resistance, expect to get an electrical shock when taking a shower, cooking a meal on an electrical stove, or touching an electrical appliance or portable electrical heater at the homeplace. Also the NFPA stats state electrical fires cause more deaths in the US than any other cause except automobiles annually dwarfing the combines one-time damage of Katrina and Rita. Expect electrical automobiles to be extremely hazardous.

neutral  Kathryn Litherland: I've never heard "grounding source" used in the context of electrical grounding. Grounding is all about where the electricity "goes to" (destination) rather than where it "comes from" (source).
