Italian term or phrase: parta dal basso e diriga verso l'alto

Explanation:
I think this would be the idiomatic English equivalent here and I also like the play on words as the pharse contains the word "work" which is exactly what you are trying to get across!!!

reverse mentoring

Explanation:
It is important to match the idea of the whole phrase:

"Quindi un processo che parta dal basso (nuove generazioni) e si diriga verso l’alto (lavoratori) e viceversa (apprendere dagli adulti in difficoltà per prevenire tali aspetti sui giovanissimi, permettendo così a questi ultimi di non commettere gli stessi errori)."

This describes not only a movement 'up' - but an equal learning exchange between generations.

I know this as reverse mentoring. [see the Web reference 1 below] While 'younger' people learn from 'seniors' - the 'younger' people share their knowledge - usually of technology - with the 'seniors,' as they, the 'juniors,' climb the corporate ladder.

"In the reverse mentoring situation, the mentee has more overall experience (typically as a result of age) than the mentor (who is typically younger), but the mentor has more knowledge in a particular area, and as such, reverses the typical constellation. Examples are when young internet or mobile savvy Millennial Generation teens train executives in using their high end Smart Phones. They in turn sometimes offer insight in business processes."

Nota bene

The parts in parentheses in the original translation piece - (nuove generazioni) and (lavoratori) - could be left out, because they are are implicit in the definition of reverse mentoring.

Example sentence(s):
 • How “reverse mentoring” is allowing managers, supervisors and CEOs to learn from the expertise of the youngest members of their workforce. [web source]
 • The concept of reverse mentoring is said to have begun a decade ago at General Electric when then-CEO, Jack Welch realized he and his management team had much to learn about the Internet. [web source]
