Italian term or phrase: segnalazioni di pregio
I'm translating the CV of a chief information officer/ IT project manager working in a bank. The term above appears once (without further description or context) in a list of projects that he has completed.

The definition that he has given me separately is:

"E' un meccanismo per cui ad un professionista (es. commercialista) che effettua una pratica di rimpatrio del capitale, che segnala al proprio cliente una certa banca, viene riconosciuto un dato compenso in base al valore totale del capitale rimpatriato."

Some kind of commission/reward scheme?

TIA :)

enabling reports for merit-based systems

Explanation:
'Segnalazioni' can mean reporting, so his IT function could have been to enable the reporting aspect of these commission/reward schemes. I put it this general way in order to fit it into his project history.

incentive (data capturing) system

Explanation:
Oliver, your guess seems more or less correct to me: something to do with the design (and implementation?) of a system to automatically calculate the incentives due to sales reps based on the number of clients they have directed to a particular bank.

I would assume the CV holder would have played a major part in designing the system (both conceptually and technically) in his role as CIO.

reccommendations / special mentions

Explanation:
Never seen this as a financial term and it doesn't Google.

If your definition is correct then "recommendations" segnalazione di un commercialista. However, if my accountant were taking commissions for feeding me to specific banks, I would change accountant and report the accountant to the Alba.
Having found this:

I would interpret as a "special mention" as in an award or a prize as used here:

JKalina has sussed it. This is "segnalatore di pregi" which some forgotten poster has already answered. I would take this post down, but it has JKalina's link on it. This post here expresses my doubts on the morality of the practice:

neutral  JKalina: It Googles as 'segnalazione (di) pregi' and look what I found (as the professional possibly doing such work, if this is in fact it): http://www.proz.com/kudoz/italian_to_english/finance_general... :)
