semi = semi-remorque = articulated lorry [BE] / semi-trailer [AE]
However, I don't think there are many around that wouldn't be articulated, so while the 'semi' is essential in FR (basically just means a lorry), I think it is unnecessary in EN. Cf. 'camion-citerne' in FR > 'tanker' in EN
You could use the equally informal 'artic' [BE], but that would depend on the register of your overall document, which seems perhaps a little too formal for that to suit.

Since this is presumably not a specifically military context, maybe 'tracked vehicle transporter' might be better — though as that is potentially ambiguous (could be a vehicle transporter that has tracks...), it might be safer (but clumsier!) to say 'transporter for tracked vehicles'.

Thanks, Clive! I suspect it's one of those low-slung-between-the-axles transporters used for tanks, but also things like giant JCBs etc. / Also suspect it is special for tracked vehicles ;-)

Nothing to do with military - so quite a crazy idea to suggest military tanks in a normal civil construction project!
