the "Act pertaining thereto"?? That seems kind of vague considering there's a reference to it in the same paragraph: Capítulo Quinto de la Misma:

Las Asambleas Generales de Accionistas, Ordinarias y Extraordinarias, como órgano supremo de la Sociedad, tendrán todas las facultades que les otorga la Ley de la materia y para su funcionamiento y validez de sus resoluciones se estará a lo que al respecto estatuye la Sección Sexta, Capítulo Quinto de la misma.

actually Ley is capitalized because it refers to the Law code, here probably Commercial Code....so it\'s actually LAWS in the plural or legal statutes

This refers to the General Law of Commercial Corporations (Ley General de Sociedades Mercantiles). I think Jane's answer is also a good solution. Take your pick.

That\'s just how they write these things, as long at is clear what law they are referring to there is no problem.
