Discussion

Darius Saczuk Mar 3, 2014:
OUTCOMES-DRIVEN, FOCUSED ON DELIVERING TANGIBLE RESULTS- two more that might fit the bill.
@Dariusz: After what you've written, Dariusz, both she and you ought to be up for a raise and promotion, and I hope to be invited to the celebration party afterwards.

@JacaZwawa: Curiously, concrete (beton, i.e., noun) has a stress on the first syllable; concrete (adjective) has a stress on the second.
Darius Saczuk Mar 2, 2014:
Task-oriented chyba pasuje mi bardziej dla "nastawiona na realizację zadań". Pod spodem mamy "konkretna w działaniach". Może by tak nie dawać dwa razy "tasks". Nie wiem czy nie pójść w kierunku "efficient in the execution of her responsibilities" lub "perseverant in the completion of her objectives". Inna opcje "goal driven" czy "steadfast/rigid and inflexible in the pursuit of her goals".
George BuLah (X) Mar 2, 2014:
Thanks again, Frank. I was pretty certain, accordingly.

George BuLah (X) Mar 2, 2014:
Asiu, chyba nie załapałem; uważam, że wszystko z Tobą w wielkim porządku, a nawet jeszcze lepiej ...

Mine is just one opinion, Jaca. It is possible to understand concrete as decisive, but it may not be the first thing that comes to mind, especially for a word standing in isolation. Also, "he is concrete" may mean he is "a real and not an imagined person." So, there is just too much possibility for confusion.

pracuję nad sobą..., ale widzę bez efektów :/
George BuLah (X) Mar 2, 2014:
oj tam, oj tam ... Iron Lady... Beton Lady ... w ogóle -- "Dziewczyny na politechniki !" :))

asia20002 (asker) Mar 2, 2014:
wiem, wyszłoby "beton" :)
George BuLah (X) Mar 2, 2014:
Asia - tak;
ja, walnąłbym byka, gdyby MacroJanus mnie od tego nie odwiódł ...

Darius Saczuk Mar 2, 2014:
imo, Asia dobrze oddała pierwszą linijkę. Konkretny w działaniu trzeba jakoś obejść.
George BuLah (X) Mar 2, 2014:
Thank you very much indeed, Frank!

Takes concrete steps (definite steps) is a good expression, so concrete is not just beton. A concrete person might mean a specific person. She is concrete in her actions (clear and decisive) is possible, but she is concrete does not sound right.
George BuLah (X) Mar 2, 2014:
btw: powiedzcie mi proszę, przy okazji tego wątku - czy w angielskim, w takich razach - można użyć "concrete", czy jest to raczej false friend i tylko znaczy - beton (?)
Dziękuję!

To chyba najlepsze: OUTCOMES-DRIVEN lub FOCUSED ON DELIVERING TANGIBLE RESULTS. Oto przecież chodzi - osiąganie konkretnych rezultatów.

assertive, decisive and task-orended

IMO

Being task-oriented and decisive, and having high expectations for others, is one thing.

Assertive bosses have many virtues. They tend to be direct, decisive, and task-oriented.

ORIENTED of course
Example sentence:

Many Americans are outspoken, task oriented, goal driven, decisive and assertive

Managers who are on the driving end of the assertiveness spectrum tend to lead by influence; they're task-oriented, decisive, and have a hard-charging approach.
