Portuguese term

discriminação de pés com cabeça à direita

Portuguese to English Social Sciences Linguistics theoretical linguistics

Even without using the nomenclature attributed to the foot inventory, the description oscillates between foot discrimination with head to the right (such as iambs) and foot discrimination with head to the left (such as trochees).

I would ignore "oscila" - it's just verbiage that's confusing the idea. I would say:

Even without using the nomenclature *from* the foot inventory, the description makes a distinction between right-headed feet (such as iambs) and left-footed feet (such as trochees)'.
