An example:

A company that owns a physical cable network refuses to include a TV channel in what's offered to users of that cable network.

For the company producing this TV channel:

prejudice = the simple fact of not having access to potential viewers on that that network, maybe also being negatively portrayed in order to justify this denial.

damages = the loss of potential revenues from these "missed viewers"
Peer comment(s):

disagree Milan Nesic : No, "damages" is about compensation here. "Damage" (as injury/loss) is uncountable in general terms. No concrete cases were mentioned to justify using the plural.

shibboleths about damage/damages notwithstanding, you keep missing the key bits, like confusing "suffered damages" [= штета] vs "damages" used as shorthand for "compensation paid for suffered damages" [= одштета].//Internal coherence of a text?

šteta po ugled / nematerijalna šteta vs. materijalna šteta

Da li bi ovo odgovaralo kontekstu?
Note from asker:

Peer comment(s):

disagree Daryo : their competitors ... suffer substantial damages.

No concrete individula losses were pointed out that would justify using "damage" as a countable noun so this is still in general terms; ergo, "damages" (plurale tantum) is about compensation.
