Red Ninja takes place in 16th century Japan, as the power of the Samurai class is quickly fading. It is a time when the Ninja has become a necessary tool in controlling political power.

Years ago games with ninjas were all about a lot of deadly force, acrobatic moves, and kick ass weapons. Today those things are still a big part of ninja games, but more and more the idea of stealth is becoming quite a popular technique that players are demanding from developers of such titles. Vivendi Universal is entering the genre with their latest title, Red Ninja, a third-person stealth action game coming out on both the Xbox and the PS2. We recently had a chance to check out a demo of the game hosted by Vivendi, as they demonstrated the main character, Kurenai, and some of her moves.
