don't have long o - sorry, but with a french keyboard it's not so easy - and definitly no reason for a disagree - if you have an answer post it and don't crtisize others in this rude way - why not a agree, but....? Jealous?
agree Rowan Morrell : With szia - http://www.planetpals.com/hello.html. I think gagi's "disagree" was a bit uncalled for here. You are correct with szia, and he/she could have agreed with that while still correcting the "helló" (BTW, on a Windows PC, ó is ALT + 162.)

Thank you! I use Linux in the moment - special job - some of the Hungarian colleagues are not very friendly ..... hello is quite common at the youngsters -
agree Kathrin.B : helló, szia. +Rowan's comment.

Csokolom!
neutral Csaba Ban : Pls note that both "helló" and "szia" may be used both when meeting and departing, unlike the English "hello". Slang versions include helóka, szióka, csá, csákány, and a host of others

Youi're right, but we have only 255 characters anymore and I think that Patrick wants a short answer - Hungarian language is very rich in saying 'hello' I live here since '95!
agree Eva Blanar : pls note, however, that both of these are informal greetings, for a first meeting, you'd better use "jónapot kívánok"
