Full Form of CVV
CVV stands for Credit Card Verification Value. This three-digit number is embossed on the back of the credit card and the debit card, just above the signature box.
Importance of CVV
The CVV is used to reduce fraud risk of transactions that are made by the owner when he is not present at the venue where the transaction is being made. This additional security measure has been initiated to ensure care of online transactions, mail orders and telephone orders. The number helps validate a genuine card is being used during a transaction.
