English term
frame (storytelling)

I am not sure wether it refers to estructura or just background. The sentence:
Storytelling frame is weak, it refers to the frame of a script.
So tha author says it is necessary to remove it (the frame) from the script...
The frame also distances the audience emotionally from the story by placing the old man character in the present tense.

Discussion
Storytelling frame is weak.
A storytelling frame needs to be dramatically powerful, preferably with an even more dramatic final punch than the main flashback story. Otherwise it should not be present at all.
