La búsqueda en Google te da 1400 ejemplos; te paso algunos, incluyendo uno de Brasil como ejemplo de que también se ha incorporado al portugués.
IBM y Telefónica de Argentina firmaron un acuerdo para tercerizar servicios por 252 millones de dólares.

Explanation:
A good translation would be externalización, but this term has been taken up by insurance. The "Spanish" word generally used is ..."outsourcing" which is becoming a standard, so it may be a good idea to leave it in English, with quotation marks, and bring up the explanatory word "externo" somewhere. For instance, in the second part of your text, something like .."la selección del colaborador externo es de gran importancia..."
In any case, I don't think one should ever transalate outsourcing as "subcontratación" because this is a consecrated term with definite legal implications.

Many manufacturers have discovered that it is chepaer and more feasible for themn to buy, rather than make, certain kinds of parts that are either specialized, require unique skills, or fluctuate widely in demand. By purchasing components from the outside when, and as, they need them, producers avoid storage problems, the risk of being out of stock, or the problems of searching for skilled, often temporary, labor.
