/ Film: western
English term or phrase: ...as the lady said to the sailor
CABLE: Hang it in there. Let's see what it'll do, as the lady said to the sailor.

Muchas gracias.

frase hecha
Explanation:
Nunca la he oído.

´As the vicar said to the actress´.

Incluyo un ejemplo de ésta

Muchas gracias, Hazel.

agree  MJ Barber: I always heard as the actress said to the bishop - i.e. when you say something and then realise that it could be a double-entendre, nudge nudge wink wink

agree  Andrea Bullrich: I've also always heard it as actress>bishop, but the idea is the same: to get people to think of a different meaning for "Hang it in there. Let's see what it'll do"

un chiste

Explanation:
es un chiste, se suele decir hoy en día "as the bishop said to the actress or as the actress said to the bishop." siempre que haya una posibilidad de un doble entendemiento sexual.
Por ejemplo,
A man trying to unlock a door says "I can't find the hole" "as the boshop said to the actress." JI JI
