Explanation: Capris (or capri pants) are "tight-fitting women's pants ending above the ankle." -- Webster's New World College Dictionary, Fourth Edition. The term derives from the place name, Capri.
They were very popular a couple of decades ago and may still be (I haven't been to a beach in a while!)
Explanation: Depending on the country, they are called either toreadores (because they resemble the pants worn by bulfighters) or pescadores (again, because they resemble the rolled-up pants worn by beach fishermen.
