Rector or "Head" of the Paris educational administration/district

GDT donne "president" en tant que la traduction de "recteur"--"Haut fonctionnaire de l'éducation nationale chargé de la direction d'une académie."

Mais dans ce context, je crois que "rector" est plus apte, car EuroDicAutom donne "Office of the Rector" pour un "Rectorat",tel que le "rectorat de l'académie de Paris"- ce dernier on peut traduire par "Paris educational administration" ou "Paris educational administrative district" (Harrap's Shorter Dictionnaire). In American English I would go with "Head of the Paris educational administrative district." Hope this helps!
