German term

Eurodata

German to English Bus/Financial Accounting
I'm sure this term just stays as it is because it looks very international. However, I would be very interested to know what it means. It crops up on the itinery for a seminar on business management. Datenfluß zwischen TS, Steuerberater, Eurodata. It also stands alone as a topic. Also Eurodata-Steuerberater.

The necessity for a Steuerberater to operate on Eurodata is acutely felt in the EU due to the ongoing efforts to "harmonize" all tax types in each country. This still remains unresolved and it's driving accountants crazy because every year the laws have been changing towards "convergence" (I'm using all the Eurocongress euphemisms, but it simply means we're presently a big mess. VAT, for example, is suspended between member states pending further agreement, and each country has to be careful not to seem a "tax paradise" due to accusations of "unfair competition". There are other Eurothings, don't be surprised to find the term over and over, but it has been "harmonized" to be recognizable and understandable in every member state.
