It is a bit difficult to find references for this term that fit into the botanical context, but there are some, and here is another example:
"Together, these experiments indicated that nuclear
extracts derived from organs in which the tomato
rbcS genes are differentially transcribed contain DNA binding

complexes with rbcS promoter regions."
