I'm assuming they mean a switch, which is the only thing that makes sense. Apparently not written by a native speaker (Der praktische Transport- und Aufbewahrungstaschen...)

Another thought: Maybe the travel bag is form-fitting and has a plug in it that shuts down the machine when it\'s slipped into the bag? In that case, try \"cutoff plug\".

Comment: "Thanks for the suggestion. In fact I don't think it is a shut-down switch because there is a photo which shows it to be a small box-like gizmo that fits over the end of the machine's lead. Even though there are zillions of Google refs. for shutdown switch that doesn't mean they are describing the thing in my photo! I have ended up going with shut-down plug as it is a plug-shaped object."
