Proctortopf

Not for points German to English Tech/Engineering Geology Geo-chemistry
Is this an actual word or a misspelling? What is the equivalent term in English? If it is misspelled, then what English word does it most likely represent given the following sentence, from where it came: Parallel zu den im Feld festgesteIlten Raumgewichten wurden mit dem jeweiligen Material Einstampfversuche im großen Proctortopf (0 250 mm) gefahren und der Wassergehalt bestimmt.

with Phil Proctor mold is correct, it is used for compaction tests of soils - but the field is geotechnical engineering and not geochemistry.

I don't know. I'd never even heard of geochemistry until you asked this question - I just found the answer by Googling. But I'm sure that if you post the German as well, someone more knowledgeable will be able to help.

Does proctor mold make sense when used in the following English sentence? Parallel to the fixed bulk density, pulp attempts with the material were carried out in the large Proctortopf (0 250 mm) and the water content determined.
