This is from the Schott Group website (about LCD glass; mind you, I wouldn't use technique, but this has obviously been translated by German speakers):
"In order to produce the extremely thin glass required, various manufacturing techniques can be used, including the over flow fusion method and the float process. SCHOTT makes use of the technologically advanced float technique in manufacturing extremely thin glass. This technique is characterized by the fact that it is used to produce large, homogeneous substrates. "
