German term or phrase: G-Wasser

Es geht um den Integritätstest eines Sterilfilters, der bei der Herstellung von Pharmazeutika eingesetzt wird.

Leider konnte ich nirgends herausfinden, wofür das "G" steht. Falls es "gereinigt" (purified water) wäre, macht das große G keinen Sinn.
Ansonsten fand ich nur 'Grundwasser', aber das macht auch nicht viel Sinn in diesem Zusammenhang.
Für irgendwelche Anregungen wäre ich sehr dankbar.

Are you sure there was no number before the G-wasser, because they usually measure water in gramms.

Asker: No, there was no number in this instance. And in another instance it read "80 ml G-Wasser", so the G must refer to something else. Thank you for your input though.
