Stichprobe: Es wurden insgesamt 1.002 Personen befragt, die an der Kaufentscheidung von Haushalts-Großgeräten beteiligt sind.

I can perhaps make up a term for this composed of the two parts of the word but would be really grateful for the correct marketing term. Can anyone help?

I don't think you need to translate "Untersuchung" as it refers to "Befragung".

Not a lot of hits for "survey factfile" - but there is a nice one at www.le.ac.uk/press/factfile.doc
