Someone, out there, pockets money for writing nonsense which then gets published. Not clever, not funny, certainly not constructive, I agree. On one thing I have to disagree: A translation which already is in the public domain cannot be "made public property" by me. Please note that I avoided to identify the organisation and certainly we do not know who the translator is. That is why I said "Let's draw a veil over those details." (Nothing "literary" about it, by the way, to answer your question. What was "more or less literal" in my KudoZ answer was the use of "tragedy" for the Polish "casket.")
The purpose of a forum which claims to be professional is also to chastise the lack of professional standards. That was the rationale of my gesture. A fruitful professional discussion followed which had nothing politically incorrect about it, so I do not see how anyone could get offended. I am sorry you did.
