Judith Hehir (asker) Apr 27, 2011:
Thanks, Natalie. Yes, there are several diagnoses that way.
Thank you.
Natalie Apr 27, 2011:
Hi Judith, are there any heart diseases in the diagnosis? If yes, then this should be the so-called фармакологический тест с нитросорбидом. The EN name for nitrosorbide is isosorbide dinitrate

angina relief test with an organonitrate drug

I suspect this may be a test whether organic nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, pentaerythritol tetranitrate, etc.) are effective as anginal pain relievers in the given case.
Sorry, I am not a doctor, but from my experience as a mountain SAR paramedic many years ago, this test can be used in the field to distinguish true coronary symptoms from similar types of pain when you don't have an ECG machine. Why they need this test at the hospital is beyond my limited knowledge, although I suspect it may have to do with figuring out whether a mere dilation of coronary vessels is sufficient to provide a relief, or there are more serious problems. We do have a few MDs out here, so hopefully one of them will give a clarification.
Note from asker:
Thank you, Anton. From what I've read, it appears to be a stress test performed along with the drug Natalie mentioned in the discussion below. Yes, hopefully, our MDs will set us straight here.
