"paginating", "repaginating" or "layout editing"

"paginating", "repaginating" - splitting a document into pages given a layout. "layout editing" - I would use as a general term to use when talking of colums, margins, footnotes and other settings

N.B. I would not like to use pagemaking as that sort of points to Pagemaker software, and I prefer to be more general, like calling a vacuum cleaner just so, rather than \"a hoover\", which is just one make of them...
