leather strips or sheets Explanation: I agree with my colleague and that given the scant context, it's literally anyone's guess. However, looking at the term "helechos ornamentales", I suspect they "might" be leather strips rather than sheets. The Spanish word "helecho" in English usually means "fern" or "bracken" and these might be some kind of decorative flowers--in which case, "strips" would probably apply more than "sheets".
