Art. 66. - Performed Explanation: Given this context, Ii would opt for "performed" - in other words, the marriage was conssumated at the time and date indicated right before. Mike :) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 38 mins (2007-06-25 17:39:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In Thomas West's Legal and Business Dictionary, there are two different linguistic environments with "habilitar" - one meaning "performed" and the the meaning "affixed" as with stamps in an official recording in a book or registry. |

Art. 66 - Authorized/Qualified Explanation: Those are the two other possible meanings of "habilitado" in legalese English. See the AVH Legal, page 770.- Now, it could also be "performed" as Michael says, but this is impossible to know if we don't know what the Art.66 is all about... Regarding Section and Article, this is like that in the Common Law system, but if we are talking about a Venezuelan certificate, I would leave it as it is, specially if it is certified. Suggest you check with your client. |
